Psalms 133:1 NIV  ‘How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity! ‘

Enemies in the workplace should come as no surprise to anyone. These are the obstinate, difficult personalities that purposely try to make our otherwise peaceful workdays challenging. These are not the people who are a little hard to get along with, who leave the coffee pot empty, or who occasionally take your pre-assigned parking space. Workplace enemies have set themselves up in direct conflict or competition with you. They leave the office at night ruminating on thoughts of how to make their next workday with you worse than the last workday they had with you. These types are generally miserable, disagreeable, sometimes malignant people. They have no joy in their lives and they are trying to make sure that you don’t have any joy either. Many are discontent and disrespected at home and end up bringing their toxic behavior and attitudes with them into the office setting. They take out their personal frustrations on their colleagues in varying ways with attacks that can be covert, non-covert, or passive aggressive in nature. They create problems where none exist. They try to publicly shame and embarrass others. They only see the negative side of things and rarely the positive. Since they receive no respect at home they do not operate from a position of proper authority, therefore they overcompensate by abusing their positions of authority within the workplace.

We can’t change how people behave but we can pray that God would change them. If your workplace enemies are obstinate towards God, He is able to handle them in ways you would never have thought of. Don’t take vengeance on anyone. That is not your job.  Vengeance belongs to God alone. Your responsibility is to pray. Pray the following prayer points until you see positive change.

Pray these prayers and declarations out loud.

  FATHER IN THE NAME OF JESUS:

1. I ask you to bring peace into every chaotic situation within my workplace. (1 Corinthians 14:33 KJV)
2. I ask you to mend and change the hearts of my coworkers who have an inclination to nurture conflict over peace. (Ezekiel 36:26 AMP)
3. I pray for the salvation of my coworkers. I ask that you open their eyes to see truth so they can recognize where they are operating in error and begin to make adjustments in those areas. (John 8:32 KJV)
4. I ask you to give my colleagues an agreeable spirit and help them to choose peace over conflict at every turn. (Colossians 3:15 AMP)
5. I command order and relevant dialogue to preside at every meeting I attend. Let the desire to create solutions overtake the desire to create issues. (Ephesians 4:31-32 AMP)
6. I bind gossip and slander. Lord, I ask you to bring strong correction to those who perpetuate this type of behavior in professional settings. (Proverbs 13:17 AMP)
7. Father, deal with the heart issues and motives of those who are continually jealous and envious of others and bring necessary corrections into their lives. (James 3:16 AMP)
8. Father, I ask you to openly expose and punish all instances of rebellion, dissention, and division that seek to destroy the foundational principles and orderly administration of this organization. (1 Samuel 15:23 AMP)
9. I bind workplace violence. Lord, I ask you to thwart and expose any brewing plots or trouble. (Job 5:12 AMP)
10. Lord, expose and bring to an open shame those who steal or try to take credit for other people’s ideas and work. (Exodus 20:15 AMP)
11. Father, expose and deal with the underlying attitudes of self-idolatry and self-glorification that perpetuate unhealthy competition and jealousy within the organization. (Isaiah 2:12 AMPC)
12. Father, please put forgiveness into the hearts of my colleagues to bury old offenses and to stop nurturing old wounds. Help them understand that if they don’t forgive others, neither shall you, God, forgive them for their offenses. (Mark 11:26 AMP)
13. Lord, for my colleagues who have refused to make relevant changes, I ask you to remove them from their positions of authority and give those positions to others who will not abuse their power. (Isaiah 22:19-21 CJB)
14. Purge the rebels from among us and those who transgress against you and your Word, Father. They shall not enter in with us. (Ezekiel 20:36 NKJV)
15. Father, I ask you to immediately evacuate toxic, narcissistic employees and managers from their positions and shift them into alternative places, endeavors, or situations that you deem fitting for them. (2 Timothy 3:1-5 AMP)
