Don’t Miss Your Day of Visitation

Luke 19:44 AMPC  ‘And they will dash you down to the ground, you [Jerusalem] and your children within you; and they will not leave in you one stone upon another, [all] because you did not come progressively to recognize and know and understand [from observation and experience] the time of your visitation [that is, when God was visiting you, the time in which God showed Himself gracious toward you and offered you salvation through Christ].’

Many people have missed or will miss their day of visitation from the Lord for various reasons:

  • They didn’t recognize it when it came. They live a carnal lifestyle and are unable to view things through spiritual eyes. They were too busy chasing the things of this world; money, men, women, material things.
  • It didn’t ‘look’ the way they thought it should have. They were too prideful to believe that the help they needed arrived in ‘this type’ of package.
  • Instead of receiving it, they chose to behave immaturely and play games with it.
  • They accepted that their predicaments were just part of life and believed that what is faulty or less than God’s best is unchangeable for them.
  • They and their religious spirits would rather argue about the day of visitation instead of accepting that it is here to help provide solutions to their situations.
  • They have no faith for it. They don’t believe that God can set up a sequence of events to effect change for them.
  • They are following the disbelieving crowd instead of thinking for themselves. They are followers and have a herd mentality.
  • They are so mentally twisted that they would rather abuse the messenger and treat them contemptuously rather than receive healing in the areas of life that they need touched.
  • Some people hate God so much that they don’t care, even though He purposely showed up on their doorstep to help them because He loves them.

For some people it is too late for this season of their lives. It is possible that God might send someone else across their path or visit them at a later time but it is not guaranteed. When they make up their minds that they might want to explore what God can do for them, they may be forced to wait lengthy time frames, even years, because they ignored the day that was at hand. Some others have missed it all together. Still others did recognize it and have received what they needed from God.

Our experiences with God are all personally based. Don’t use someone else as your thermometer to test God’s temperature for your life. Don’t ignore the day of your visitation. You may have to wait years to receive what was already present and being freely extended to your face, or you may never receive it simply because you lack the understanding on how to receive from God.

Isaiah 10:3 AMP  ‘Now what will you do in the day of [God’s] punishment, And in the storm of devastation which will come from far away? To whom will you flee for help? And where will you leave your wealth [for safekeeping]?’
