Self-Acceptance and Your Value

Romans 12:2 AMP  ‘And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you]. ‘

Too often we may find ourselves caught in a pattern of trying to find our identity based on worldly viewpoints or as seen through the eyes of others. God never told us to figure out who we are based on the way other people see us. The Word of God is the only manual we need to understand who we are, what our authority is as Believers, and how we are to function in this earth. Of course, you do have to read the Word in order to know what it says about you. You are uniquely and wonderfully made in the image of your Father God. This makes it unnecessary to compete with other people in order for you to feel like you have the same value that they have in regard to worldly things like beauty or possessions, or in order to not feel left out of mainstream acceptance. You don’t have to put on a clown suit and do cartwheels to be noticed. You don’t have to promote yourself. You don’t have to fall victim to the diabolical schemes of people to make you compete like a gladiator and degrade yourself for probably what was never meant for you in the first place. Just be YOU. The correct people will notice you at the correct time. Those are your people. The ones who actually like and enjoy you for who you are. The real, effortless you.

Pray these prayers and declarations out loud.
